Origin:
Julii Corydoras are native to the Amazon River basin in South America. They are typically found in slow-moving rivers, streams, and flooded areas with sandy or muddy substrates.
Tank Setup:
A well-maintained aquarium with a minimum size of 20 gallons is recommended for Julii Corydoras. Provide a sandy or fine-gravel substrate to mimic their natural habitat. Decorate the tank with driftwood, rocks, and live plants to create hiding spots and mimic their natural environment. Ensure the tank has a tight-fitting lid to prevent them from jumping out.
Diet:
Julii Corydoras are omnivorous and will readily accept a variety of foods. Offer them a balanced diet consisting of high-quality sinking pellets, frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Supplement their diet with vegetable matter like blanched spinach or cucumber slices.
Size:
Julii Corydoras typically grow to a size of around 2-2.5 inches (5-6 cm) in length. They have a relatively slow growth rate compared to other fish species.
Behavioural Traits:
Julii Corydoras are peaceful and social fish that thrive in groups of at least six individuals. They are known for their playful and active nature, constantly exploring the bottom of the tank in search of food. They are also known to exhibit shoaling behavior, staying close to their companions.
Water Parameters:
Julii Corydoras prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 6.0-7.5. The temperature should be kept between 72-79°F (22-26°C), and the water hardness should be moderate, around 2-12 dGH.
