Origin:

Originating from the Congo River Basin in Africa, these peaceful and sociable fish are a delight to behold with their shimmering metallic hues of blue, red, and yellow.

Diet:

Feeding these omnivores is a breeze as they eagerly accept high-quality flake food, supplemented with live or frozen treats like bloodworms and brine shrimp.

Water Parameters:

They thrive in a well-planted tank with ample swimming space and subdued lighting, preferring slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.5) and temperatures between 75-82°F (24-28°C).

Tank Mates:

Known for their amicable nature, Congo Tetras are excellent community fish, best suited with non-aggressive tank mates such as other tetras, peaceful barbs, rasboras, or dwarf cichlids. Their non-aggressive demeanor makes them a perfect addition to community tanks, but their long fins may be vulnerable to fin-nipping species.
