Origin:
This species is native to the rivers and streams of South America, specifically found in the Rio Xingu in Brazil. It prefers areas with moderate to fast-flowing water and rocky substrates.
Tank Setup:
To provide a suitable habitat for the L066 King Tiger Pleco, a spacious aquarium with a minimum capacity of 30 gallons is recommended. The tank should be well-aerated with ample hiding spots such as caves, driftwood, and rocks. A sandy substrate and moderate water flow mimic its natural habitat.
Diet:
The L066 King Tiger Pleco is primarily herbivorous, feeding on algae and plant matter. It is essential to provide a balanced diet that includes high-quality sinking pellets, algae wafers, and occasional fresh vegetables such as zucchini or cucumber. Supplementing their diet with protein-rich foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp is also beneficial.
