LARGE Livingston's Cichlid - Haplochromis Livingstonii

Livingston’s Hap Cichlid is a stunning Lake Malawi Cichlid that adds vibrant colors and lively behaviour to your aquarium.

Habitat:

This species is native to Lake Malawi, which is one of the African Great Lakes. In the wild, Livingston’s Hap Cichlid inhabits rocky areas along the shoreline, where it can find shelter and establish territories.

To replicate their natural habitat, it is recommended to set up a spacious aquarium with plenty of rocks and caves for hiding and territorial purposes. Provide a sandy substrate and include some plants and driftwood for added aesthetics. Ensure the tank has a good filtration system and maintain a stable water temperature.

Diet:

Livingston’s Hap Cichlid is an omnivorous species. In the wild, it feeds on a variety of small invertebrates, insects, and plant matter. In captivity, a balanced diet can be achieved by offering high-quality pellets or flakes supplemented with occasional live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia.

This cichlid can reach an adult size of around 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) in length. The growth rate may vary depending on the tank conditions and diet provided.

Behavioural Traits:
